The symbol — a minimal, stylized picture frame consisting of two geometric arrows — is highly readable yet distinctive and evocative. Paired with an expressive wordmark set in ‘Plage’ by Korean typeface designer Bouk Ra as well as a bright and energetic color palette, the system is bold, idiosyncratic, and expansive. The Pausology wordmark is a delicate serif typeface with two graceful arcs growing from the descender of the “P” and the ascender of the “l”, creating an open, circular, yin-yang-like symbol. This mark has been paired with polished typography, an earthy color palette, and bold organic illustrations to create an identity that is inviting yet confident and sophisticated. Working in close collaboration with their internal team, I developed an active and varied system that celebrates diversity and change. The core mark is a friendly hand-drawn monogram whose line quality references Airbnb’s ‘Belo’ logo. Paired with organic shapes and hand-drawn marks, the result is a multifaceted, joyful system based in variety, human centered texture, and visual abundance. Collateral for this event includes booth design and staging, signage, staff t-shirts, Keynote presentation design, and various swag. Work completed at MacFadden and Thorpe.
